Six-Three Networking Governing Rules and By-Laws
1) Membership:
a) To be considered for membership, a potential member must attend three consecutive meetings of the group.
b) Potential member must submit membership application to the Membership Committee for consideration at 3rd attended meeting.
c) Membership Committee shall consider all applications for membership and determine eligibility of potential member.
d) Once a person has been accepted for membership they must follow membership guidelines.
e) Absence from 3 consecutive meetings will terminate membership except for the following situations:
i) Illness
ii) Member has a substitute (who is NOT a member of the group) make
a presentation on their behalf.
iii) Other situations as determined by the Membership Committee
2) Ineligible Members:
a) Membership to the group will not be granted to any existing BNI members (as it is prohibited by their by-laws).
b) Membership will not be granted to any “competitive profession or business” to which a current member already holds the seat.
3) Attendance of meetings:
a) Members & Guests are encouraged to arrive prior to the meeting being called to order.
b) Members should sign-in on the member roster sheet each week.
4) Meetings
a) Meeting will be held weekly.
b) Location of meeting – County Fare, Rte 1 & Hope Road, Stafford, VA.
c) Meeting location may be changed by two subsequent affirmative votes taken at two consecutive weekly meetings by the full members.
6) Committees:
Six-Three Networking will consist of a Membership Committee and a Executive Committee.
7) Membership Committee:
a) Shall consist of three full members elected for one year term by the majority of full members in attendance at the time of the election.
b) In the event a vacancy occurs on the Membership Committee, the position shall be filled by a full member elected by a majority of the
full membership within 2 weeks of the vacancy.
c) Shall have the responsibility to approve new members, remove members who fail to meet attendance requirements.
d) Shall designate one of their committee to keep the records of membership through sign-in sheet.
8) Executive Committee:
a) Shall consist of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer elected by the full membership in the month of October of each year.
i) Chairman - presides over the meetings
ii) Vice-Chairman – acts when Chairman is not present
iii) Secretary – maintains the records of leads passed and reports information to membership
iv) Treasurer – maintains funds assessed in Treasury, conducts the 50/50 drawing each meeting
b) No limit on the number of terms a full time member may serve as a member of the Executive Committee.
c) Members of Executive Committee may designate an assistant - such as with the 50/50 drawing.
9) Inviting Guests:
(1) It is strongly encouraged that each member invite guests to insure the success of the group and to prompt larger networking opportunities for the individual and group as a whole.
The phenomina of six degrees of separation connects us all. When in a business setting or networking opportunity, you should always introduce yourself to anyone within three feet of you. This is the principle of 6/3 Network.
**6-3’s goal is to ensure the success of the group and produce larger networking opportunities for the individual businesses and the Group as a whole.
